There are a number of ways to get the information you need from the Ontario Electronic Property Index Map. The property information will only display when the area displayed is close enough to define.
If no properties display on the map, from the Zoom Options , select Zoom In
. You can also Search by Street Name (in the Map Tools below).
You can also refine your results using one of the following Map Tools:
- With the map search results displayed, in the Search by Street Name field at the top of the map, start typing the street name.
The results display as you type.
- From the displayed results, select the street name.
The display will zoom to the street in the centre of the map.
- With the map search results displayed, select the Zoom Options button
to open the Zoom Options.
- Select the Zoom In button
to zoom in closer on the map, and the Zoom Out button
to zoom out further on the map.
- With the map search results displayed, select the Zoom Options button
to open the Zoom Options.
- To return to the last viewing adjustment, select the Previous
button, and the Next
button to go to the next viewing adjustment.
- With the map search results displayed, select the Zoom Options button
to open the Zoom Options.
- To view the complete LRO map, select the Go to LRO Map
button.
The display zooms out to the LRO level.
- With the map search results displayed, select the Zoom Options button
to open the Zoom Options.
- Select the Map Area
button.
The cursor will appear as a plus sign +.
- Click and hold the cursor on one corner of the area you’d like to zoom into, and drag it diagonally to define the region.
The defined map area will fill the screen.
- To define a point as the centre of the map, with the map search results displayed, select the Zoom Options button
to open the Zoom Options.
- From the Zoom Options, select the Map Centre
button .
The cursor will appear as a plus sign +.
- Select the point on the map you’d like to define as the centre.
The map will adjust with the defined point as the centre.
- With the map search results displayed, select the Layers
button.
A drop-down menu appears.
- Select the checkbox next to Geographic Information and/or Key Map, as needed.
The details are displayed.
- With the map search results displayed, select the Measurement button
.
The Measurement window opens.
- Select Area
or Distance
.
Area
- Click a spot on the map to start your area, then move the cursor to click the next spot, then the next, until you have your area defined.
- Double-click to finish defining the area.
The area measurement displays in the Measurement window.
- From the Unit drop-down list, select another measurement unit, if needed.
Distance
- Click a spot on the map to start your distance measurement, then double-click on your final measurement point.
The distance measurement displays in the Measurement window.
- From the Unit drop-down list, select another measurement unit, if needed.
Note: You will need to enable pop-ups in your browser to print the map.
- With the map search results displayed, select the Print Map
button.
The Print Map window opens.
- Select your print options.
- Select the Print button.
The PDF displays in a new tab.
- Save or print as you normally would.
- With the map search results displayed, select the More Info
button.
The More Info panel displays.
Note: Maps are not Plans of Survey. Any measurements derived form the map are approximate. For the actual dimensions, please refer to the plans and/or documents registered or deposited in the Land Registration System. Measurements are rounded to the nearest meter or foot.
