Property Search

In the Property Search, you can search a property using the PIN, street address, registration number of an Instrument registered on the property, or you can locate the property on a map (view sample). Then you can obtain information about the property, print and download a copy of a map, or order a Parcel Register. 

 

PIN

  1. On the OnLand Homepage, from the Find your Land Registry Office options, begin typing the name of the city, town, or LRO name, or number you’d like to search in. The results will display as you type.
  2. From the results in the list, scroll down and select your LRO.
  3. From the Find your land registry service options, select Property.
  4. Select the PIN option.
  5. From the options, select PIN or PIN Range, and enter either an individual PIN or a range.
  6. In the Requested By field, enter your name, or the name of the person on whose behalf you are searching.
  7. Select Search.

The results display for each PIN you requested. From here, you can:

To View the Map

  1. Next to the desired PIN or PINs, select Pay to View Map.
  2. The Express Checkout page displays.
  3. Select the desired payment option.
  4. Enter your payment details, and select Submit Payment.
    1. The Ontario Electronic Property Index Map page displays, with property numbers and information displayed.
    2. From here, you can print the map, or change your map view using one of our Map Tools. 
    3. Note: If you want a printed copy of the map view on your screen, this is the point at which you should print it. It will not be emailed to you. 
  5. Select Email Receipt or Download Receipt to obtain your receipt for your order.
    1. Note: It is a good idea to download your receipt as well as emailing it, as a precaution.
    2. From here, you can:

Download a Copy of the Map

To obtain a copy of the map, select the desired PIN on the map, select Buy Parcel Map, and enter your payment details.

Order a Parcel Register

You can order the Parcel Register for the PIN(s), by selecting the date and language options in the Parcel Register options on the page and selecting Add to Cart. Then proceed with payment.

To Order the Parcel Register

  1. Next to the desired PIN or PINs, select Buy Parcel Register. 
    1. Tip: To buy the Parcel Registers for more than one PIN at a time, from the Select Multiple PINs option, switch the toggle to On, and select the desired PINs. Then select Buy Selected Parcel Registers.
  2. Select the date and language options in the Parcel Register options on the page.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. Select Add to Cart.
    1. A window appears, detailing the number of items in the cart and the total for your order.
  5. To add more items, select Continue Shopping. To pay for your order, select Checkout.
  6. The Your Shopping Cart page displays.
  7. Verify your order details and select Checkout.
  8. The login page displays, where you can log into your account, create a new one, or select Continue as Guest User to make your purchase without an account.
  9. Make your selection and proceed to the Checkout.

Instrument

  1. On the OnLand Homepage, from the Find your Land Registry Office options, begin typing the name of the city, town, or LRO name, or number you’d like to search in. The results will display as you type.
  2. From the results in the list, scroll down and select your LRO.
  3. From the Find your land registry service options, select Property.
  4. Select the Instrument option.
  5. Enter the Registration Number.
    1. Tip: If you don’t know the prefix for your Registration Number, you can find it in the Prefix List for your LRO in this list. 
  6. In the Requested By field, enter your name, or the name of the person on whose behalf you are searching.
  7. Select Search.

The results display for each PIN you requested. From here, you can:

To View the Map

  1. Next to the desired PIN or PINs, select Pay to View Map.
  2. The Express Checkout page displays.
  3. Select the desired payment option.
  4. Enter your payment details, and select Submit Payment.
    1. The Ontario Electronic Property Index Map page displays, with property numbers and information displayed.
    2. From here, you can print the map, or change your map view using one of our Map Tools.

Address

  5. Enter the address details. 
  6. In the Requested By field, enter your name, or the name of the person on whose behalf you are searching.
  7. Select Search.

Map

View a Sample Map

  1. On the OnLand Homepage, from the Find your Land Registry Office options, begin typing the name of the city, town, or LRO name, or number you’d like to search in. The results will display as you type.
  2.  From the results in the list, scroll down and select your LRO.
  3. From the Find your land registry service options, select Property.
  4. Select the Map option.
  5. From the options, select a map area to view from the Zoom to an Area dropdown list, or enter a block number in the Block field.
    1. Tip: The block number is the first five digits of the PIN.
  6. In the Requested By field, enter your name, or the name of the person on whose behalf you are searching.
  7. Select View Map.
    1. The map displays for the area or block you have specified. 
    2. Tip: If no parcels display on the map, try zooming in with the map zoom arrows or push the slider up the scale. 
  8. Zoom in on the map until the individual blocks and parcel details display, and select your parcel.
    1. Note: If you want a printed copy of the map view on your screen, this is the point at which you should print it. It will not be emailed to you. 
    2. Tip: You can also refine your map area by using one of these Map Search Tips. 
  9. Select Buy Parcel Map. 
  10. The Express Checkout page displays.
  11. Select the desired payment option.
  12. Enter the appropriate payment details, and select Submit Payment.
    1. The Ontario Electronic Property Index Map page displays, with individual PINs and information displayed.
  13. Select Email Receipt or Download Receipt to obtain your receipt for your order.
  • Order a Parcel Register

You can order the Parcel Register for the PIN(s), by selecting the date and language options in the Parcel Register options on the same page and selecting Add to Cart. Then proceed with payment.
